Little Traverse Lake Association

Mission

LTLA is dedicated to responsible stewardship to preserve and enhance the environmental integrity of Little Traverse Lake and its surrounding watershed through education, research, and collaborative action.

Values

  •  We are indebted to the peoples and generations before us who have been caretakers of our lake, environment, and watershed.
  • All who live and visit here are today’s stewards. We are responsible for maintaining its quality, now and in the future.
  • We believe that by working together, and in collaboration with other stakeholders, we can build trust and fulfill our mission, even if resources are limited.
  • Not every use of land or water is wise or sustainable. We must ensure that our organizational and community actions are informed by evidence-based science.
  • We value the input and involvement of our members and the collective effort to gain a common understanding through research and education that leads to better stewardship.
  • We are committed to good governance, providing clear communication of our strategies and results, and using our resources, including the talents and expertise of our members, in the most efficient and responsible manner possible.
